LICENSING INFORMATION & FAQ’S

What licensing do i need to rent equipment?

When renting from our facility the customer is responsible to get proper licensing for operation per state law. If you have an in-date & valid hoisting license you may skip the permit, however if you or an operator does NOT have a hoisting license you are required to get a permit. Please look below for all permitting information. Note that these are required for hydraulic machinery only.

M.G.L CHAPTER 146 SECTION 53

I’m renting a machine for agricultural reasons, do i still need a license or permit?

Yes, you do need licensing to rent our equipment. This is due to Massachusetts state law exempting operators who are using their own equipment on their own property. When renting you are still required to have proper licensing; either a hoisting license or temporary permit.

How long is the permit good for? how many can i get?

Temporary permits issued through At Leisure License are valid for two weeks starting from print date. You may obtain a permit hours to weeks ahead of a rental, your permit won’t activate until we print it out and bring out your rental. You may obtain a new permit 60 days after your first temporary permit expires, you may obtain your second permit after the 60 day period is over.

How much does it cost?

Each Permit as of summer 2022 is $25.00/each permit but prices may be subject to change. These price decisions are up to the state of Massachusetts and are separate from any rental costs.
