Damage waiver

What is a damage waiver ? The damage waiver is a service offered by Maki Rental Station to cover repair or replacement if the machine is broken under normal use only . This does NOT act as insurance and should not be perceived as such.

  • The damage waiver makes up 10% of the cost of the rental & is included in final price of rental. This applies to ALL rentals; including equipment & party rentals.

Some examples of damage NOT covered by our damage waiver are: tipping a hydraulic auger, sinking a machine in mud & causing external engine damage, breaking a chipper axel by running over a tree stump…ect. Such events DO NOT occur under normal use. Abuse & misuse of the equipment will result in extra charges related to any damage caused after rental & will be determined by severity of damages.

Pick up & drop off rentals

You may pick up a rental by reservation or walk-in during our store hours Monday to Thursday 7:30am-4:00pm, Friday 7:30am-5:00pm or Saturday from 7:30am-3:00pm. We are closed on Sundays all day.

Our chain/gates are closed & locked when we are not open. Customers are not allowed to drop equipment in front of these gates/chains as it is a hazard & blocks paths for fork trucks moving inventory. These gates & chains promptly close at 5:00 Mon-Fri & promptly at Noon on Saturdays.

Equipment must be returned during store hours only, returns are to be brought to Maki Rental Station & be checked out by an employee. Returns CANNOT & WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AT THE MAIN LUMBER BUILDING. You will be turned away & sent to our building to return during store hours or will have to wait until we reopen. Any equipment left outside is not considered returned, the customer is responsible for any damages or stolen equipment that occurs outside of Maki Property including outside of our gates.

Any rentals overnight are considered 1 day & will be charged 1 Day rental rate.

Half-Day rentals are any 4 hours between the hours of store operation & are picked up/dropped off same day.

Weekend rentals consist of Friday through Monday AM.

*Please note some items require a deposit due to fuel, cleaning, in case of breakages... ect. These deposits will be returned if machine is returned in good condition.*

What if the equipment i’m renting gets lost or stolen?

If any party or equipment rental is stolen or lost you must contact your local police department within 24 hours of item being stolen. This is non-negotiable, all customers are responsible for replacement & recovery costs. This is agreed to when you sign your rental contract upon rental pickup.

Fuel POLICY

All equipment that requires fuel MUST BE RETURNED FULL OR CUSTOMERS WILL BE CHARGED. All equipment is fueled before delivery/pick-up. We require any fuel that is used to be replaced by customer. If fuel is not replaced the fuel charges are as follows:

Small items: $10.00 (Demo saw, Brush Trimmer, Backpack blower...ect)

Medium Items: $25.00 (Chippers, log splitters, stump grinder ect)

Large Items: $75.00 (Bobcat/Large Hydraulic Machinery)

 

RENTAL CONTRACT

When you are renting with Maki Rental you will be signing a contract at the time of pickup. This contract states that the customer renting will follow our rental policies and notify us if there are any damages to the machine during use. This is important to know as the renter since a signature us required for any and all rental items regardless of pick up or delivery. By signing our contract you agree to:

  • Have the proper licensing to operate the machinery (permit or hoisting license)

  • Will replace the fuel they use & refuel machine.

  • Are monetarily responsible for any and all damages that happen outside of normal wear and tear ( breaking hydraulic lines, serious cosmetic damage such as deep scratches or broken panels…ect)
